Hey guys guess what… I'm pregnant!!

Yep you read it right! We're expecting!

We found out a few weeks ago and I have been so excited to share the news with my blog followers… you don't understand. It's taken all I have in me to wait until I went to the first appointment to tell you guys. So we went to our 8 week appointment last week (I'm 9 weeks now) and everything looked great. No twins in there, just one little bean! I love seeing the heart flutter for the first time… always makes me emotional.

Baby is due July 3rd… so I'm thinking probably end of June! Jake and this baby will be just over 2 years apart (27 months)… we wanted them to be two grade years apart and they will be! I took my IUD out end of July and they recommend giving yourself a full month before trying to get pregnant (just so a good lining will build up again) so we ended up getting pregnant in September…

I found out before my missed peroid… we were booking tickets to Disneyland that night and I just felt blah. A little sick and very tired… so I went and took a pregnancy test and long behold… two lines popped up! I gave it to Jake and said, "give this to dada". I'm surprised with how much he actually does understand… he took it and went over to my husband Sam and started whacking his leg with the pregnancy test. Hahaha. Sam took the pregnancy test and said, "Say one of ours!" (our familiy's way of saying "are you serious?!") He was so excited, he had the biggest smile on his face.

I've felt like it's a girl… I'd be happy with a boy or a girl but for some reason I have a feeling it's a girl. You know when you imagine your future and without thinking about it you just imagine having a girl or boy next? Mine has been a girl.

Another reason is an experience I had with Jake. We love the name Chloe for a girl… Sam and I had been talking about how we both loved that name (before I was even pregnant). One night we were at the mall and Jake went running off to a jewelery store and started tapping on the glass pointed at something while saying "gah! gah!" to try and get my attention. When I looked down he was pointing to a little heart pendant that said "Chloe" on it. Crazy right?!

If it's not a girl I would still love to have a boy… Having two boys close in age would be way fun. I will be happy with whatever comes my way!

So another reason I'm so excited to be pregnant and share it with you guys… is to use this blog to document a HEALTHY pregnancy! As you know last time I didn't work out at all, I ate way too many cheeseburgers and gained 70 pounds of baby weight… this time is going to be a different story.

When I first found out I was pregnant (at 4 weeks) I ran the Provo Haunted Half Marathon the next day. The timing was perfect because I feel like it was a perfect way to kick off my pregnancy. I'm going to keep running, exercising, and lifting… this whole time! PREGNANCY IS NOT AN ILLNESS. Becoming a couch potato because you're "pregnant" is so outdated. The benefits to continuing to exercise and eating healthy while pregnant are endless! I'll do a more in depth post about this later, but think about this… why wouldn't we strive to be the healthiest we've ever been while growing another human?? It only makes sense!

Of course, certain situations have certain limitations and you should always be cleared by your OBGYN. I talked about it at my 8 week appointment with my doc and he said as long as I've been doing it before I'm good to go! What I've read on like the American Academy of OBGYN's says to not push it too hard… rather to keep a moderate pace while working out. A pace that you're able to continue conversation at.

So the reason I shared my pregnancy news with you before the typical 12 week announcement time is because I want to share all stages of my pregnancy with you! I think the first trimester can be the hardest time to find the motivation to eat healthy and workout… I didn't want to be done with the first trimester before I started sharing. But let me tell you this while I'm thinking about it… the days I work out I feel SO much better during the day. When I work out in the morning I have less pregnancy sickness during the day and less fatigue… it's amazing!

So I'm going to be a lot more active on my blog now that I'm pregnant! I'll be sharing healthy recipes, pregnancy exercises, updates on my pregnancy, and anything else that I find interesting! 7. Most pregnancies last from 37 to about 42 weeks. Health care professionals calculate the delivery date 40 weeks from the date of conception (the date the sperm and egg fused).Vaikjuostė
